Programs

Our Friends Academy Summer Camp Programs are offers unique options to suit every family’s need. Camp sessions can one  to eight weeks. Families have the flexibility of which weeks their child will attend!

Explorer (3-7 years old)

Our Explorers Program enrolls campers ages 3-7,  and offers a diverse program of activities including the arts, athletics, aquatics and STEM activities and so much more.

Ratio: 4:1 camper to staff ratio

Swim: Campers have the option of two (2) swim a day. One session can be an instructional session at no additional cost.  

STEM: Our activities allow campers to develop their critical thinking skill, build interest and knowledge that campers can take with them into the classroom and beyond. Oh and sometimes, we get a little messy too!

Arts: Hands-on activities such as woodworking, ceramics, painting, jewelry making, and other original projects. Our campers enjoy a music program that includes an original stage production.

Friday Fun Days: Field Day, Water Day, themed days, as well as performances and appearances by professional entertainers are just a few examples of special events that take place every Friday

Mini Day Option: 3 to 5 years old campers may register for either a full day or the mini day which ends at 1:30 pm. Mini Day Campers can utilize transportation in the morning but must be picked up in the afternoon by a parent or caretaker.

 

 

 

Adventurers (8-10 years old)

Our Adventurers Program enrolls campers ages 8 -10 years old. This program is a natural next step from our Explorers Program. Our Adventurers participate in an engaging program of activities including the arts, athletics, aquatics and STEM but have the luxury of "flex-time" each day for 45 minutes  and a specialty class each week. Specialty classes can range from lacrosse, cooking to coding

Ratio: 5:1 camper to staff ratio

Swim: Campers have the option of two (2) swim a day. One session can be an instructional session at no additional cost.  

STEM: Our activities allow campers to develop their critical thinking skill, build interest and knowledge that campers can take with them into the classroom and beyond. Oh and sometimes, we get a little messy too!

Arts: Hands-on activities such as woodworking, ceramics, painting, jewelry making, and other original projects. Our campers enjoy a music program that includes an original stage production.

Friday Fun Days: Field Day, Water Day and themed days. 

 

Trailblazers (Ages 11-14)

Our Trailblazers Program allows our campers (Ages 11-13) the freedom to design their summer!  Campers choose an exciting program of interest each week! Our flexible program schedule allows campers to experience different sports/electives or focus on a specific passion of theirs.

Ratio: 8:1 to 4:1 camper to staff ratio depending on the sport or elective

Swim: Campers have the option of two (2) swim a day. One session can be an instructional session at no additional cost.

Program Offerings: Cooking, Art Studio, Basketball, Dance, Tennis, Golf and so much more. Official program offerings will become available January 2020.

Smart Start! (Grades K-8)

Our Smart Start Program is a great opportunity for campers to receive 1:1 academic support to review and enrich skills from the previous academic year as well as introduce new concepts to be learned in the upcoming year. 

Our licensed teachers will make learning fun by providing interesting, challenging and creative activities which stimulate and motivate campers. Smart Start takes place Monday through Thursday for 45 minutes each session.

Explorers and Adventurers attend during camp day. Trailblazers have the option to attend prior to the camp day or during one of their swim periods. Please be advised that busing is not available for the 8:15-9:15 session therefore students must be dropped off.

 

Leaders & Counselors in Training (14-15 years old)

Our Leaders in Training (LIT) Program helps campers learn about teamwork and leadership. This highly competitive program accepts campers who demonstrate  emotional maturity, leadership potential and motivation for training.

Year 1 LITs  are mentored by our staff and are given opportunities to be a positive role model for our younger campers. LITs learn interpersonal skills that will serve them well beyond high school and college.

 Year 1 LIT applicants must:

-Be entering the 9th Grade (September 2019)

-Submit a written application with recommendation form along with current enrollment form.

- Commit to a minimum of four (4) weeks

Summer Camp staff members will schedule an interview to discuss program placement.

Year 2 LIT applicants must:

-Be entering 10th or 11th grade (September 2019)

-Submit a written application and written reference letter along with current enrollment form

- Commit to a minimum of six (6) weeks

The Summer Camp Staff will schedule an interview to discuss internship/placement.

LITs can apply for a position in either in our Summer of Exploration (Ages 3-7) or The Ultimate Summer Experience (Ages 8-13) programs.

Due to the strong interest in this program, positions are limited. Applications are accepted beginning January 15th
