After School Programs
All students must be enrolled to attend Enrichment. The number of students per session is limited. Enrollment is online (see form below) and the program will close when it reaches its enrollment maximum (20 students). There will be no exceptions made. Confirmations will be sent out to the e-mail address used to register. Classes may be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment or inclement weather.
Program fees will be applied to your student account after the first session. You may request a fee waiver if the cost is prohibitive. Please check the "Fee Waiver Requested" box at the bottom of the online enrollment form. Fee waiver requests are confidential. We are aware that there may be sports schedule conflicts and will accommodate them to the best of our ability.

The middle school is again offering the after school community service program to support elementary school children who attend the Centro Cultural Hispano (CCH) after school homework help program at TR Elementary School in Oyster Bay. This is a service opportunity for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students. Students travel in a Friends Academy van to and from Oyster Bay. They will leave at 3:30pm and return to campus by 5pm. A Friends Academy teacher will be with the students to chaperone them at the elementary school. This program runs on Tuesdays and will begin in early November and run until end of March.

Middle School Jazz Band for grades 6-8
The MS Jazz Program is reforming this year under new leadership and with a new plan! This year MS Jazz Program will be meeting after school 3:30 - 5:15 pm on Wednesdays starting on September 26. This program is open to any 6th, 7th and 8th grader who wants to participate.
James Liverani, Mike Mattia and Dan Gross will be here every Wednesday to teach the fundamentals of Jazz. So if you want to try this cool, fun, creative type of music, come Wednesday September 26 and try it out! We will meet through March 7 and perform at the Jazz Concert.
Having three teachers in the room at the same time gives us the opportunity to have a group dynamic while giving differentiated instruction for skill levels and instruments. The first three weeks are open for a trial period to come and see if you like it. After that we will be asking you to make a commitment.

VEX IQ Robotics
VEX IQ is a snap-together robotics system introducing students to STEM. The system encourages teamwork and problem solving.
The VEX Robotics Team is a competitive team activity, NOT an after school club. Students work in small teams to build, program, and compete at tournaments with their robots. Just as on an athletic team, if members are absent, the team will suffer in competition. As such, students are expected to attend all team meetings (practices) and competitions. Students who are not willing or able to fully participate will not be allowed to be a part of the team.
Mandatory Team Meetings on Mondays from 3:30-5:00 starting Monday, September 17th. Only exceptions will be due to illness or religious observance. Mandatory participation/attendance at competitions.
There will be teams of 2-4 students. Not all teams will participate in tournaments, however, students are expected to attend.
Tournaments are held on Saturdays, typically from 8:00am-2:30pm, and sometimes after school from 3:30pm-6:00pm. The competition schedule is TBA. Usually tournaments begin in late November and go through February. Teams are also required to complete a STEM research project to be presented at competitions for judging.
