A gift to Friends Academy in the form of appreciated securities can earn you extra tax advantages. Not only do you get your regular charitable income tax deduction, but you can also avoid paying capital gains tax. If you wish to make a gift of stock, you or your broker may contact Joan Bruen at 516-393-4251.
One way members of our community help provide for the future financial health of Friends Academy is by including Friends in their estate plans. This vision helps provide for future generations of students. Provisions may include bequests, charitable remainder trusts, pooled income fund gifts and gifts of life insurance.
Unlike inheritances, which are taxed, donation bequests are not subject to taxation. For this reason, a growing number of individuals are including Friends Academy in their estate planning. For more information about planned giving please contact the Development Office at (516) 393-4269. You may also wish to discuss planned giving with your personal financial advisor.
