Strong Minds. Kind Hearts.

Peace Week Introduction

Watch below for an Introduction to Peace Week with Quaker-in-Residence Jen Cort and Director of Diversity, Equity + Inclusion Camille S. Edwards!

This year, we are hosting two weeks of exceptional programming for students and families designed to help us reflect, connect, and engage in this year's theme, "Amplifying and Uplifting Voice."
Each night of Peace Week, please join us for a different event, featuring testimony from a Holocaust survivor, community film viewing & panels, cooking with Friends Academy families, our very own Coffee House, All-School Meeting for Worship, and much more!

Valued partner – The Holocaust Memorial & Tolerance Center

This year, we are honored to bring you programming, special speakers, and virtual tours with our community partner and neighbor, the Glen Cove-based Holocaust Memorial & Tolerance Center.  At Friends, we align with community partners who not only share our values, but help support us in bringing our Quaker mission to life.

Here are some of the programs we will experience with HTMC:

    • In-school Student Program: Elementary Tolerance Program (Grades K-4) and the One Act of Courage Program (Grades 5-12)
    • Evening Family Program:  Testimony Experience with a Holocaust survivor
