"My love for the arts has been nurtured from my first days at Friends Academy. In the Middle school I was introduced to all forms of art with theater, music and visual arts classes. I performed in plays which allowed me to explore dance, music and acting. And I was exposed to art and artists whose talent, hard work, and enthusiasm showed me what was possible. The knowledge and ideas I took from each experience made it possible for me to focus and find my passions in the Upper School."

Trips & Travel
THE ARTS IN the Upper School are supplemented by field trips and travel abroad opportunities which expose students to the many cultural and artistic offerings near our community and around the world. Field trips are sometimes specific to one art form, such as a trip to a museum or to see a Broadway show. Other trips offer a more universal approach to the role art plays in our world, such as the annual Honors Art trip to Philadelphia. Each year the Art Departments offers at least one travel abroad experience.
