Learning 21st-century skills and beyond... today.

From interactive SmartBoards to personalized computer classes in 5th grade, students explore hardware, software, internet safety, and work on individual and collaborative projects tied to the curriculum.

Technology permeates the Lower School.  All Lower School classrooms are equipped with state-of-the-art interactive whiteboards and our faculty receive regular training on the best ways to integrate them into the classroom.  Laptops are available in even the youngest classrooms to allow the teachers to include technology projects whenever deemed appropriate.  Grades 3 and 4 have shared sets of laptops to allow one-to-one computer use on a variety of lessons.  The Lower School Library also has a class set of netbooks which the Librarian uses to teach research and keyboarding skills.

In 5th grade, we are excited to begin a one-to-one netbook program this year.  Each student will be assigned a netbook which will live in their classroom, not go home at night, so that they are always available when the teacher determines that their use will enrich an activity.  The students will be responsible for keeping their netbook charged and making sure it is properly put away each night.
