The Lower School After School Programs (ASP) is comprised of two components, Extended Day and Enrichment. Extended Day is available to all Lower School students, Early Childhood Class through Grade 5, while Enrichment is open to students in Kindergarten through Grade 5. Separate classes will be offered to Early Childhood students when possible.
Extended Day is an opportunity for students to engage in hands-on minds-on activities in a variety of areas created and supervised by certified teachers and teacher's assistants. Activities include baking, crafts, legos and outdoor fun - just to name a few. In addition to scheduled actiivies, time each day is set aside for homework assistance. ENROLLMENT OPTIONS AND DESCRIPTIONS
Students may enroll in Extended Day for one to five days a week. Enrollment is done in one of two ways for your convenience. For those with changing schedules, monthly enrollment is available. You may also choose a full school year option. Students may participate in Extended Day on the same days they take Enrichment for a prorated fee.
Extended day enrollment is online only. Confirmations will be sent out to the email address used to register.
For your convenience, parents may choose to enroll their students in our Drop-In service. This service enrolls your child in Extended Day with 24 Hour notice on a daily basis of your choice, for an additional fee. Enrollment is required as a Drop-In.
Please note that while we will try to accomodate all Drop-In requests, we may not be able to accept all Drop-Ins based on attendance. In addition, an email must also be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org indicating the change in dismissal for any day that the Drop-In option is used. To Enroll Click Here.
EXTENDED DAY FEES
The fees to participate in Extended Day are:
- $36 per day or:
- $20 per day if your child is also enrolled in Enrichment for that day
- $45 per day for Drop-Ins
- Late fee of $1 per minute will be added after 6 p.m. for all services
Feels will be charged to your student account monthly.

Broadening, Deepening, and Developing…
Our Enrichment program is designed to broaden our students’ experiences, deepen their understanding of various subject matters, and develop specific skill sets. Classes are taught by experienced Friends faculty and professional instructors. Sessions are grouped to accommodate various learning levels and may be grade specific due to the field of study.
Enrichment classes are offered in two sessions. The Fall/Winter semester runs from September to December and the Winter/Spring semester runs from January to May. Classes are offered Monday through Thursday from 3:30-4:30PM on specified days. Please see the Enrichment Classes page for detailed course descriptions and dates. At the end of the school day, Enrichment students are escorted to a designated area of the lobby for pick-up by their instructor. Every student is provided with a snack.
All students must be enrolled to attend Enrichment. Drop-ins are not permitted. Enrollment is online only and operates on a first-come first-served basis. Programs will close as they reach their maximum number of students, as noted on the course descriptions, and may be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment. To ensure all students have access to the programs, each child is limited to enrollment in two classes per semester during the two week "early bird" enrollment period. After this time, enrollment in additional classes will be allowed where available. If a class is closed, you may email email@example.com to indicate that you would like to be placed on the "waiting list" and you will be notified if a space becomes available.
Children will be able to drop a course after the first class, but there is no guarantee that they will be able to add/join another class after doing so. This will depend on overall enrollment in the classes. Please note, that due to salary commitments and material costs, one-half of tuition will be refunded if a student chooses to drop a course after the first class but before the second class. Refunds and class changes will not be permitted after the second class. No exceptions will be made.
Enrichment class fees range from $200-$350 per session. The fees for each class are indicated on the Enrichment Classes page. The requested fee will be added to your student bill upon your child’s enrollment confirmation. Families may request Financial Aid by clicking on the appropriate box on the enrollment form.
*Please note that we will make all efforts to make-up classes that are cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control (ie. inclement weather). Refunds will not be given if we are unable to reschedule these classes. However, if an instructor must cancel, and is unable to obtain a substitute teacher or reschedule the class, students will be given a complimentary Extended Day session on that day.
