Physical Education and Health Teacher

This is a full-time position as physical education and health teacher serving all three divisions of the school. Experience and background in curriculum in both areas is of particular interest. A successful candidate will also serve as an academic advisor in the Upper School, support the MS athletic program and coach in the US athletic program. The coaching needs vary year to year but demonstrated leadership and experience in the following sports is of interest for the coming year: Girls Basketball, Girls Lacrosse, Field Hockey and/or Crew. This position also involves supervision in the girls locker room, at athletic contests, as well as departmental responsibilities assigned by the Athletic Director.

Qualifications:
An undergraduate degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science and/or Health is required. A Masters degree is preferred. Three to five years teaching and coaching in an independent school setting is desired as well as experience working in three division school.

 

Childcare substitute teacher

Qualified applicants must have experience with young children and be able to work with children, ages infant up to 3 years old. Experience in a center setting is preferred.

 

Early Childhood Teacher

Under the supervision of the Lower School Principal and the Early Childhood Lead Teacher, the Early Childhood Teacher will support the planning and operations of the Early Childhood Mixed-Age Program including: scheduling, communication with parents, evaluation of students as well as executing developmentally appropriate, 21st century skill-based curriculum.  The teacher will also implement and coordinate special projects as directed by the Lead Teacher. A successful candidate will support the school’s behavior management system and plan for the social-emotional growth of the students. He/she will act as a partner with the other ECH teachers and parents to promote and develop the social, academic and emotional development of the young children.

Qualifications:
A successful candidate will have a BA degree with an emphasis in early childhood development or early childhood education.  An M.A. is preferred, or a combination of related work experience and education. He/she should have three to five years of experience in teaching preferably in independent schools, excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to serve as a collaborative member on a team.
