Photographing and Organizing the Works of John Schacht, "Outsider" Artist
Source: Jane Wenger, '62
John Schacht, a friend of -Jane Wenger ’62, whose own work has been exhibited at The Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago and at PS1, New York, died in 2009. John was an "Outsider" artist. Jane now has his work: his collection of art and artifacts, his journals, etc. John was a very interesting artist who didn’t receive any recognition for his work during his lifetime. It is Jane’s goal to change that. The internship, which is unpaid but is great experience, would involve photographing and organizing John’s work which is in the attic of a property next to Jane’s Chicago home located in the "hot" Wicker section of the city. Interns should be interested in art and live in or near Chicago.
