FA Girls Track haul in state championship wins

FA Track take 1st place in three events; make FA history

The Friends Academy Girls Track team brought home first-ever state honors in three events at the Division 2 State Championships this past weekend and tied Medgar Evers HS in overall state federation team points. The girls earned 21 medals over the course of two days of competition.

On Friday, June 8th, senior Kelsey Margey won the 800 meter NY State Federation Championship,  sophomore Candace Taylor won the 400 meter Division 2 State Championship and the 4 X 400 m relay team (junior Molly Sullivan, Kelsey Margey, junior Sunny Lostritto, and Candace Taylor) finished 4th in Division 2 State Championship and ran a season best of 4:02.  

The following day, Kelsey Margey placed 2nd in the NY State Federation Championship 1500m. run, Candace Taylor placed 3rd in the NY State Federation 400m. and  the 4 X 800 meter relay team of Molly Sullivan, sophomore Katrina Garry, Kelsey Margey and Candace Taylor finished the evening winning the Division 2 championship event running a season best of 9:16.
