Friends Academy congratulates the Class of 2011
87 students receive their diplomas at 125th Commencement
LOCUST VALLEY – With family and friends gathered, Friends Academy celebrated its 125th Commencement on Saturday, June 11. Eighty-seven members of the Class of 2011 received their diplomas from Head of School Bill Morris, Upper School Principal Deborah Schoman and Board of Trustees Co-President Tom Hawkins ‘78. Graduation speeches were presented by Amanda Lamothe of East Islip, who will attend Dartmouth College and Edward McNelis of Garden City, who will attend Cornell University in the fall. Middle School Social Studies teacher Philip Cicciari delivered the faculty address. Members of the Class of 2011 wore white ribbons to remember classmate Brian Hom, who passed away earlier this year.
