Students may become involved as grade level representatives and if interested may then run for Secretary/Treasurer (gr.6), Assistant Clerk (gr.7), or Clerk (gr.8).

TASQUE (Teachers and Students for Quaker Education)
Grades 6, 7, and 8 – Advisors; Mrs. Collier, Mr. Smith
This committee focuses on the spiritual and ethical issues in the school. Students must express interest in joining this club to their advisor or Mrs. Collier. Names of interested students are presented to the faculty for approval.

HOPE (Natural Helpers)
Grades 7, 8 – Advisors: Mr. Austin, Ms. Schalk and Dr. Quinland
The Natural Helpers Program is a national peer-helping program that serves students in middle school through high school. This is a program for students who want to strengthen their communication and helping skills and to provide support to others and serve their schools and communities. Students learn about this program through an assembly where current HOPE members along with faculty advisors explain the purpose of HOPE and how students are selected. Students who are selected and decide to become a part of the program will receive training during a two day retreat in November.

Diversity
Grades 6, 7, and 8 – Advisor: Ms. Merriweather
Our school, like our country, is a mosaic of cultures and traditions. The Diversity Club looks to recognize and celebrate our cultural diversity.

Ambassadors
Grades 6,7,8 – Advisor: Mr. Rubenacker, Mr. Smith
Students who are interested in representing Friends Academy as tour guides and panelists at Open Houses and who would like to host perspective students during the admissions season are encouraged to join the Ambassadors Club.

Model Congress
Grades 6,7,8 – Advisor: Mr. Smith
Motivated, well-informed students work together to present legislation to a “Model Congress” comprised of Friends Academy students and other independent school representatives. This is a great club for students who are interested in learning more about and experiencing the democratic process.

Yearbook
Grades 6,7,8 – Advisors: Mrs. Nesfield and Mrs. Roussel
Interested students work closely with the Yearbook advisors to create a yearbook that reflects student like in the middle school. New technology, including digital cameras, has enhanced the creation of the book.
