LOWER SCHOOL OPPORTUNITIES
Position: Teacher's Aide
Start Date: April 15, 2008
Description:
This position involves providing instructional and clerical support for the Fourth Grade classroom teachers. Responsibilities include but are not limited to carrying out the following:
Supervision of students in non-academic setting such as the cafeteria, playground, hallways, and on field trips Set up of equipment and preparation of materials for instruction. Support and assistance with children in their learning Provide students with individualized attention. Support teachers by checking papers and homework Performance of clerical duties such as the recording grades and attendance, typing and filing, and duplication of class materials

Qualifications: An Associate degree is required but a BA or BS degree is preferred. Experience working with students in an independent school setting is helpful.
Position: Lower School Library Assistant - Part Time
Start Date: August 25, 2008
Description:
This is a part time position in the Lower School Library. A successful candidate will work four half days/week, Mon-Thurs. approximately four hours per day depending upon the Lower School schedule. Responsibilities include working with students to select appropriate books, checking out books and reshelving books. Familiarity and an interest in childrens books and library experience is preferred.
Qualifications:
Very strong computer skills including all Microsoft Office programs and a willingness to master our library management software.
Strong keyboarding and filing skills, attention to detail, and follow through on all assigned tasks. Flexibility and ability to multitask.
An affection for children and eagerness to work directly with children.

MIDDLE SCHOOL OPPORTUNITIES
Position: Middle School Spanish Teacher
Start Date: August 25, 2008
Description:
This position involves teaching five sections of Spanish in grades 6-8, advising a group of 6-8 students and coaching two Middle School sports. A strong candidate is dynamic in their approach to teaching and feels comfortable working in a team situation. Candidate should possess strong interpersonal skills including ability to work and communicate ideas with parents. Experience teaching middle school preferred. Support of activities that contribute to the life of the school and attendance at all-school faculty meetings, events, back-to-school nights, department and divisional meetings is expected of all faculty.

Position: Late Afternoon Receptionist

Description: This position involves answering the telephone in the main building of the school from 4PM to 6PM, Monday through Friday during the school year. It also involves directing inquiries and handling some incoming and outgoing deliveries.

Position: Music Teacher - Three Divisions
Start Date: April 11, 2008
Description: This is a full time position teaching music primarily in the middle and upper school but also involves working with lower school students as well. In addition to teaching band and instrumental lessons in low brass or percussion, this position involves leading several student bands. The successful candidate will advise a small group of students in the upper school and take on a co-curricular activity such as supporting theatrical productions and student bands in their performances.
Qualifications: BA or BS in Music, MA preferred. We are looking for an all around music educator with strong piano skills who also has the ability to play and teach low brass and/or percussion instruments. Ability to teach music theory and composition are also required of a successful candidate. Teaching experience of five or more years is required.
Position: Technical Support Specialist

Description:
This is a twelve month, full time, staff position and involves the following duties and responsibilities. The successful candidate will respond to user help desk requests including problems with computer hardware and software, audio-visual equipment, printers, and other technical equipment. It also involves providing technical support at school events occasionally after hours; executing hardware and software upgrades and installations on desktops and laptops; creating and maintaining connections within the FA telephone system; servicing network printers
and audio/visual equipment (i.e. VCRs, DVD players, and Projectors). This position also involves maintaining an inventory of technology supplies and processing reorders and service calls as needed. All tech support work must be carefully documented.
Qualifications:
· Minimum 2 years helpdesk, application support, or customer service experience in the field. Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred. · Familiarity with both Microsoft and Apple operating systems in a networked environment. Versatility with a wide range of applications including, but not limited to, user productivity suites, email, virus protection, and multimedia also necessary. Dell or Microsoft certifications preferred. · Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills for interaction with the various constituencies within the school community and provide a high level of service in a professional manner. · Ability to work both independently and collaborately. Creativity, strong analytical and organizational skills are also essential.
Position: Middle School Administrative Assistant
Start Date: May 7, 2008
Description:
This full time position includes coordination and management of school and administrative calendar, maintenance of student records including attendance, grades and discipline. The position requires frequent and effective communication with parents as well as serving as a "greeter." A successful candidate will need to be competent and efficient with data entry and scheduling, serve as a facilitator of school events and a contact person for the middle school in conjunction with the Principal. Candidate would also serve as a contact person in the school's crisis management plan and serve as a liaison between faculty, parents and staff in communicating important school information. A willingness to participate in school events outside of the normal realm of responsibilities is a plus for this position. This position requires a person to be energetic, and a community-oriented team player committed to supporting middle school administration and faculty.
Qualifications:
An Associates degree, 3-5 years experience, strong interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, a team player, strong computer skills and copy editing skills.
