During the Archeology and Prehistoric People Unit the student will:
* Read examples of Legends and demonstrate and understanding of their importance in history by completing textbook review excercises.
* Demonstrate an understanding of how archeology and artifacts help scientists and historians learn about ancient civilizations.
* Participate in the "Create-A-Culture" project in order to gain hands-on experience in the retrieval, examination, and analysis of artifacts that have been fabricated specifically for this excercise. This is a manipulative group project, concluding in the presentation of the groups findings as part of a Powerpoint presentation.
* Demostrate an understanding, by completing textbook review excercises, of prehistoric people; aspects of their life that helped them to advance (tools,language, clothing, discovery of fire); the Neolithic Revolution and how it affected their life (farming and herding, specialization, government, religion)
