Geography

During the Physical Geography Unit the Student will:

* Demonstrate an ability to recognize various landforms, waterways and natural resources by completing the "Wrinkled World Project" and explaining the resultant model to the class. (A manipulative group work project)

* Create and use relief and elevation maps and demonstrate mastery of these skills by identifying components of relief and elevation on a map test.

* Explain the effects that landforms, waterways, climate, and resources can have on human descisions through a written assessment.

* Identify various map projections and their purposes: use longtitude and latitude to locate places on a map and globe, including the use of Global Positioning Systens technology(GPS): and identify map components and their uses by successfully completing a test which includes all of the above.
