Election of the Carnival Queen

This contest is a real show that lasts for five hours. A queen and her two dauphinesses are elected by the public. Behind the scenes, an army of hairdressers, beauticians, parents and friends prepare the candidates for the numerous photographers and cameramen waiting in the hall! The candidates are judged on the originality of their costumes and the way they present themselves. The girls, aged between 15 and 25, are presented wearing two distinct outfits: the local dress and the fancy robe. |
